Welcome to the 25th Annual Run for the Seals!
Benefiting The Marine Mammal Center

On Saturday, March 8th, The Marine Mammal Center celebrated a quarter of a century of its annual Run For The Seals event! The 25th Annual Run For The Seals was a resounding success, as people showed up in droves with dogs and babies to participate in the 4 mile run/walk, or just hang out while listening to KFOG’s Peter Finch and CBS 5’s Jeffrey Schaub emcee. The Giants’ mascot, Lou Seal, as well as The Marine Mammal Center’s own Frannie The Fur Seal, entertained the crowd with their antics and kicked off the race. Great educational booths were on site, along with delicious baked goods and generously donated Odwalla Bars, and the event offered people an exclusive peek at elephant seal patients at our hospital, normally closed to the public. An exciting raffle for amazing prizes like stays at the Pelican Inn and the Acqua Hotel or dinner with wine at Sausalito’s Sushi Ran, among other prizes, were awarded, and one lucky family dressed as Narwals won the costume contest! Dogs on leashes are welcome too! The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Race day registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m.
