Always wondered how the center chose its Run for the Seals t-shirt design? Thought you would like a chance at designing the race t-shirt? Well, now’s your chance to showcase your art while also helping marine mammals. The Marine Mammal Center is now accepting entries for the 2004 Run for the Seals. This contest is open to any Marine Mammal Center volunteers, members or other artists interested in designing the 2004 race t-shirt.

Concept guidelines:
Basic theme should revolve around marine mammals, ocean life, runners or some combination thereof. Please don’t humanize mammals (i.e.; put sneakers on running seal).

Design requirements:
• Design must be in full color (black and white okay if line drawing)
• Design not to exceed 8” wide by 10” tall (can be smaller)
• Design must include or allow room for the following text: 21st Annual Run for    the Seals, 2003, The Marine Mammal Center
• Design may include artists name or signature (must be discreet)
• Artist may recommend a t-shirt color

Contest Submission Requirements:
Submit either PSD or EPS file (300 dpi resolution) along with full color copy, or original full color drawing. Submit all entries along with a signed entry form (Adobe Acrobat reader required) to:

The Selection:
The Run for the Seals Committee will select the 2004 t-shirt design. The winner will be notified by Monday, February 10th. Submitted artwork will be on display at the Mammal Center’s Administration Building up until the selection is made (get your designs in as soon as possible).

The Winner:
The contest winner will have their artwork featured on the 2004 Run for the Seals race t-shirt, receive 4 complimentary t-shirts, and have their design and information posted on the race website. The winning design MAY also be used for the following year’s commemorative pin.

Contest winner will be required to relinquish all rights to the artwork. Artwork will become property of The Marine Mammal Center to be used solely at their discretion.

Returning entries:
If you would like your artwork returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. If specified on entry form, you may make arrangements to pick up your artwork from The Center by calling: 415-289-SEAL. Artwork will be available for return after March 13, 2004.
